Features of the Ween-O-Rama
From the beginning of the Ween-O-Rama, we've established traditions. Though we seem to be making up new ones each and every year, there are a few that have been around since the beginning and help to give identity to the Ween-O-Rama itself.
The DI Couch
The purchase of a couch from our local Deseret Industries is a yearly must. We buy it and haul it over to the park for our relaxing pleasure. After the annual event comes to a close, the couch is then either raffled off, claimed by a lucky Weener or returned to the DI.
Nintendo (and other games)
Another first year tradition that has held out through the decade is Dr. Mario. We always bring a television and plenty of extension cords and play our guts out (often while sitting on the DI Couch). In recent years, we've added other gaming consols and games to the park pavillion mix (such as DDR in 2005 and the Wii in 2007).
Not only do we promote Nintendo but other family friendly games are available. Over the years we have played 'Red Rover, Red Rover, send Frank right over', dodge ball, balloon toss, softball, the BB gun shoot, volleyball, ultimate frisbee and on and on. This year will be no exception. There's a great playground available for young and old and I also hear there will be some exciting lawn games. Yes, exciting ones.
The Ween-O-Rama Llama
The Ween-O-Rama's long-standing mascot is, of course, a llama. Gaze upon its majesty.
Seriously, though... what else could we use for a mascot? Just about every other kind of meat is used in the blessed weens we enjoy. I think we're safe with the llama, and if we're not... please keep that to yourselves.
So, we don't really "have" a llama, but we'd be interested in changing that. If you know of anyone who has a llama and would like to bring it along to the Ween, please contact us immediately!
